"I am filled with happiness every moment I walk around my farm. I now own livestock which was my dream. When I received my second transfer I prioritized investing KES 40000 to purchase sheep and a cow. I am now confident that I will no longer struggle to put food on the table for my family of three. I will be easily selling milk and other livestock products to earn a living."

"My ambition is to buy a daily cow so that I can have two. This would relieve me of the need to buy milk daily while also providing an additional source of income. To ensure that this dream comes true, I intend to invest more in them the goat's project by properly managing them so that they can multiply and eventually be turned into a cow."

"When I receive the cash transfer, I will sit down with my husband and plan for it accordingly because for now we are not sure if we shall get that transfer, it actually a dream to us. However I may buy a cow so that my children can be taking milk, I will also pay school for the whole year and use the rest of the money to buy land .I am not sure of the prices yet. For now am praying so hard that it comes to reality and I receive the money then we shall see what to do with it."

"The plans I have when I get the cash transfer is first to buy an expensive cow worth 500 US dollars, because this kind of cow is able to provide enough milk for sell on a daily basis that will helpme get basic needs for myself and be ableto get treatment,I am also looking at the because I have the grandchildren that will be grazing it for me. Then I will use the remaining cash of around 1600 US dollars to secure a peace of land somewhere."

"I am a local dairy farmer while my husband is a local farmer who grows maize for both family consumption and for sell in the neighborhood.Since our five acres piece is not enough for both farming and growing napier for the cows, I decided to buy a half an acre piece of land that I can plant the grass. The piece of land was going for $550 and because I had paid $250 from my first transfer, I spend $300 of my second transfer to settle the balance. I spend the balance to buy household utensils and food that lasted us for two months. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for the financial support as I would not have achieved this and many more were it not for the transfers."

"The transfers came as a blessing to our family. We were going through a tough season where the cost of living had gone up and threatened our existence. We never had milk for household consumption and so the idea of purchasing a dairy cow had crossed our minds only that we didn't have the means. GiveDirectly transfers were a big enabler, we used the money to purchase a dairy cow. We were in dire need to have a cow for milk production and for posterity so that we could remember GiveDirectly with it in the future. We purchased a cow worth KES 30000 and the rest of the money to buy clothing."

"I hope to be self-sufficient in terms of milk production. I long to add one cow to my stock and to plant feeds for the livestock to boost their productivity to enable me to produce enough milk for household consumption and sell the surplus to get disposable income"

"Before the transfers, I never had cows before as I had no stable source of income. I used the transfers to buy female cows for kshs 35,000. This is for milk production for my family's consumption and sale. I do casual work to earn a living and most of the time the pay is too little to cater for my basic needs, I do top it up with the money from selling milk and this has enabled me to take care of other basic needs like food, clothing and kids school fees. I used the remaining part of the transfers of kshs 20,000 to buy a piece of three-seater furniture. I used to fear hosting friends and relatives as I never had enough seats for them, but my self-esteem has improved since I started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly"
