Kahonzi
received a $420 second payment.
"I am currently thinking about starting a chicken farming company. I created this objective after observing how quickly they mature and how ready markets are. In addition, starting this business doesn't demand a lot of money and it is manageable. I intend to achieve my goal once I have some money, so."

Evans
received a $421 second payment.
"On December 12th last year, I married a stunning woman, and I was beyond happy. All of the objectives I had set for myself before marrying I had at least achieved but there were still some that I had not. Despite the fact that I have constructed more rooms for myself, I have not installed new doors, and I would like to do so as soon as I have enough money since the door is so old. I formerly worked at a gas station, but I lost my job due to the economic crisis the country is currently undergoing.I currently work as a farmer as I sell chicken and I am really planning to work hard to make a lot of profit so I can start Mpesa shop. I will also be selling food stuff in my shop."

Kache
received a $27 tenth payment.
"I spent a major part of my most recent transfers on paying school fees for my two children, one in high school and the other in primary school. I am grateful because I no longer struggle to pay their fees, which has allowed them to continue with their studies without any interference. I also spent the transfer on buying food for my family. We have been hit by a drought that has made it impossible for us to engage in farming like we used to do. We are now forced to buy food in spite of our low financial status. I am happy that, despite the challenges, I am able to buy enough food to last for a few weeks every month. Lastly, I bought two chickens that I am currently keeping. I am expecting that they will multiply and that I can sell them in case of a financial problem, such as raising fees for my children."

Raymond
received a $28 tenth payment.
"The last time we had adequate rain for our crops was five years ago. It has not been smooth for us because farming is the primary economic activity for the majority of people in the area. Food and water are in short supply, and as a result, the few available items are becoming more expensive. In addition, we have school-aged children, and the drought makes it difficult to cover their tuition costs. I'm grateful to GiveDirectly for making it so simple for us to take care of some of our needs. I paid $40 in school for the tuition of my children throughout the course of the previous three transfers. Two of them are still in elementary school, while one is in his final year of secondary school. We bought three chickens for $10 and used the remaining $52 of my money to buy enough food to last my home for a while. The fact that the chickens have already reproduced makes me happy, and I have faith that some of them will eventually be sold to generate revenue."

Omar
received a $28 sixth payment.
"I spent my most recent transfers on buying iron sheets and chickens that I am currently keeping on my homestead. I have been staying in my uncle's house for years, and my dream is to build my own house. I am buying the materials every month, and my objective is to accumulate enough materials in order to facilitate the construction. Having my own house will ensure that I enjoy my own privacy and have the freedom to develop myself economically, like keeping livestock in my own compound. I have been adding my monthly transfers to my savings and have so far managed to buy 7 pieces of iron sheets. Currently, I am targeting 34 pieces of iron sheets, timber, and building poles. I am also raising chickens, which I also acquired through transfers. I am expecting to sell them and raise money for the construction in the near future."

Dama
received a $421 second payment.
"I spent around $500 of my second transfer on paying fees and bought stationery for my daughter who was joining college. I am so grateful that the cash came at the right moment since we were hopeless. I must mention that were it not for the transfers, she would still be at home. I pray to God to guide her through the four years so that she can be a better person together with her generation. Later on, I bought chicken, my aim is however to start practising poultry farming. I believe this business will help me a lot since I am a widow of four children who still depend on me. I can't thank enough this organisation for bringing a positive change in my household."

"In order to boost my income, I intend to purchase another milk cow so that I can sell it to my neighbors when it calves. My children will also have access to sufficient and high-quality milk. Their health will advance as a result. I also intend to start raising chickens. I now have a few, and I hope to expand my flock by getting additional layers so I can sell their eggs and boost my income."

"As in my mind, I am thinking of having another wife, the first thing I have to do is to build a new house using $150. I will buy domestic animal as pigs of $50. I will buy matress of $30. I have solar energy but I didn't finish to pay, I owe them $31. I will pay them. Moreover, I got support of chickens for farming and I had to pay $48 to help government get other chickens to support other people. I will save the remaining amount to be used in the future to buy foods, clothes to look good."

Beatrice
received a $438 initial payment.
"We agreed on spending decisions with my husband, who was not at home at the time, immediately after receiving the first transfer. He works as a security guard in Nairobi, and I am grateful that he allowed me to carry out the plans we devised. I spent the first $90 on building materials and labor charges for a chicken coop, which I later added seven more chickens to the three that were already there. I had one dairy cow that produced enough milk for my family during the peak season. To keep it company, I borrowed a heifer from a neighbor, who later hinted at selling it to pay his children's school fees. In preparation for the school's opening, I paid him $160 for the heifer and took possession of it. I hope to increase milk production from the two cows in the future. In addition, I spent $56 on a sack of maize that we use as food, as well as $14 on a 10kg bag of rice for my family. Later, I spent $30 from my current milk business, which I had been collecting from local farmers and selling to restaurants and hotels in nearby shopping malls. Unfortunately, the amount I collect has been decreasing over the last month due to the severe drought that has rendered most livestock unproductive. "

Samuel
received a $423 second payment.
"I currently wish to buy additional chicken to boost my return on investment. I will not need to struggle to support my family as a result.
It will be easy to convert them to cash when the time comes. I am unable to set a deadline for adding them as a result, but this will be my priority as soon as I receive financing."
