Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at sleep early in the morning when I received the message of my first transfer. It was so surprising to me when I woke up to the sound of the message and seeing that I have received a huge money. I knelt down right away and told God thank you for sending GiveDirectly here in Dekoe's village.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I fry garing and make cassava farm for survival. What I make from this is too little to start a house construction. Receiving this payment from GiveDirectly has make the biggest difference in my life by empowering me to paid for zinc and working towards constructing a house in Cestos city.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my most recent transfer on the purchased of zinc to start the construction of a new house in Cestos city. My family and I owned a land in Cestos city. It is there that I want my children to live and go to school because here in Dekoe's village the quality of education is poor.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I am a single mother , my husband and I have divorced. I have my children and grandchildren that I am sponsoring . I am a business woman selling gari to send my children to school. I make cassava farm, digg the cassava, patch gari and sell , to get food for my family and I. With the cash transfer, I will start to sell other things in my community that will be more useful by community dwellers. The struggles in selling gari is hard, I am getting old and cant continue this business . I will also use part of the money to build a house for my children in Cestos. When they are done with school in the community here, they can have a place to stay in Cestos while they attend the Cestos high school. The remaining money will be safe for medical use".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"I am grateful to God that I have life. I have strength to work on my farm each day and provide for my family. This has given me so much joy. My son was sick in the hospital and went through major operation, he came up alive. This also makes me happy".

"I am financially down. A single parent struggling, making farm to sponsor the children in school and feed them is not easy I have lot of challenges that money can solve . I can say my major challenge faced is lack of financial assistance".
