Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My trustee had my phone when Give Directly sent my transfer, according to her, she heard rumours from some of the citizens in our village that Give Directly was sending our cash transfer that very day. Upon hearing the news, she ran to the network place. However, as soon as she arrived there she received the transfer and decided to call her brother to confirm because she cannot read or write. When her brother saw the message, he told her that it is the cash transfer that Give Directly has sent. I felt happy when she told me about the transfer because I have been suffering for a long time and I needed money to treat myself and renovate my house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm grateful to Give Directly for coming to my aid, because before I started receiving my transfer life has been very tough on me. I'm a farmer and I got sick for about four years, I couldn't farm anymore, but the transfer has empowered me greatly to treat myself and to attend to other basic needs.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
