How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had a plan to build my house so when I received my fourth transfer, I was able to buy planks, bundles of zinc, nails and other materials for my building project. To be sincere, I don't really know how to thank Give Directly. This program has taken me from no where to somewhere simply means this program has improved my life in so many ways. The issue of feeding my family is no longer a problem for me now. I can now be counted among the people that are building in this village. Give Directly has established my life.

GD do well by giving we the poor people free cash transfer without anything's attaching to it and from my stand point, I had not see anything's that GD don't do well.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Being a widower in our setting is stressful. In our traditional culture and norms , when any of the couples passed away, his /her partner has to vacates the premise until she/he can marry another lady or man . My wife passed away four years ago and such practice has to be forfill thereby vacating my house. Said house was delapetated and has broken down the fact I was unable to marry to another lady to occupy the house . I am presently homeless living in a room of my son and his wife two bedrooms house. I have planned to build myself a house if I am opportune to receive for myself any mount that can enable me to build. With the opportunity from GiveDirectly to receive an unconditional cash transfer on mobile money, I will build myself a house .
What is the happiest part of your day?
Sitting lonely without undertaking any projects always makes my life miserable. When I am on a job which will provide me cash in return like manufacturing of Cannon , I am so joyful. It is because my mind can be madeup that I am about to make money after my hard labour .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
There is drastic drop of my labour speed because I am an older man now. The physical jobs I used to do within an hour can now take me three hours to accomplish and that has been my challenge. I need to do these physical jobs so as to enable me find myself food or contribute to food being provided by my Daughter-In-Law almost every day .
