How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am a divorced single mother who takes care of her 3 children on her own without any help from my ex husband. Had I not received this transfer, I would not be able to pay for my child's school fees and to rely on myself. I would not be able to afford the livestock, blankets and the school fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly has gotten aid directly to the people of my village. They did not go through the chiefs in the area when selecting participants. They directly brought us the aid they wanted to give us. This has been very good because there has been no favouritism. All the members of my community have benefitted very fairly from the money GD has provided to us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my second transfer on a goat that I plan to breed with other goats inorder to increase my livestock. I bought fertilizer, cement, a blanket, a bicycle, food and I paid my child's school fees.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received i notification message that i have received a transfer from Givedirectly when i was at my neighbor's house i couldn't believe what my eyes saw, this was one of the happiest moment of mt life and i was very grateful to be part of this program

Me and my family's everyday lives have changed so much since receiving a transfer from Givedirectly because i have renovated our house which was in a very bad shape and it was at a risk of collapsing and now we can sleep in peace...

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Iam happy with the transfer and receiving it means alot in my family as well as my life. This transfer will change my life. I will use the cash to buy food and pay for my child's school fees who is currently struggling to concentrate at school due to lack of necessities.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is actually in the evening because it is when i do have supper together with my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship in my life is lack of money to support the family. As someone who does not have a husband, life has always been hard financially.
