How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better because the transfer enabled me to buy seeds, hire four acres of land and labor. I cultivated my crops with ease, currently harvesting is in progress and I am happy. Before I got the transfer, I had one and a half acre of land which was too small. I also did my agricultural works on my own which was time consuming and tiresome.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to bring the intervention in my area because I and the community as a whole have empowered finacially. There is nothing bad they have done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying livestock, music woofer, food and paying school fees.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life is better because this transfer has enabled me to hire casual labourers to work on my farm. This season I hope to get good yields since I have farmed on a large scale. Previously, I farmed on a small scale and I would over work myself since I couldn't hire casual labourers for lack of money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I recieved money, I felt very happy because I had never held such an amount of money my life. Before, I depended on farming to survive.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I purchased Agricultral inputs (seedlings) worth UGX 300,000, paid for labour ( ploughing, weeding and planting g- nuts) worth UGX 600,000, rented farm land worth UGX 450,000, saved UGX 200,000, lesiure ( bought a radio) worth UGX 200,000 and bought clothes worth UGX 50,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to complete the construction of my house, improve on my farming activity by way of buying oxen to support cultivation. This in the long run will increase food productivity which can sustain my family needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am seated with other members of the family. This is because we are able to share experiences and advise one another.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is poverty. I do not have any clear source of income and as such, I am not in position to buy oxen which would otherwise support my cultivation needs.
