How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because I am sleeping in an iron roofed house that was constructed with the cash transfer from GiveDirectly. Prior to receiving the money, I was sleeping in a grass thatched house with a leaky roof.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give unconditional cash that enabled me to construct an iron roofed house. There is nothing bad with how they work.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying timber, Ironsheets and a door. I used this materials for completing the constuction of my house.

The moment I received money, I felt very happy because I got cash transfer which has helped me to build a permanent house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I bought building materials ( 2 trips of bricks, 2 bags of cement, iron sheets and a door ) and paid labour for building my permanent house. The recipient did not know how much was spent by the helper on the above items .

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will mean that I will have better accommodation. The house I sleep now is leaking and when it rains, I have to sit the whole night because the whole house is wet/dumpy.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happy during day because I overthink at night about the rains and my leaky house. When morning a pproaches, that comes with joy and excitement because I will be talking to other people who relieve me off the stress.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing is poor living conditions. I sleep in a leaky house that has holes and when it rains, it's dampy and that cuts off my sleep for that night hence it is a great inconvenience.
