How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different because I was able to use my transfers to buy iron sheets that I will at last use to roof my house. I had always longed for them given that I built a house and all the time, paying fees for my children kept me from roofing my house. Although I am still using my grass thatched house, I am confident that soon I will move into my iron roofed one. Hence relieving me from the expense of always renewing the grass.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that has enabled me to buy iron sheets that I will at last use to roof my house. On the other hand, there is nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 1015000 to buy more thirty five pieces of iton sheets. I then used Ugx 200000 to buy a tree that will be cut into timber. I also used part of my remaing balance to cater for house hold needs such as treatment of my child, buying clothes for my children, feeding and some utensils.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the happiness and relief I feel seeing that my house construction will move forward. Raising money to complete my house had become a real challenge as all the money that I got was always directed to paying children's fees. Secondly I am delighted that I was able to get this transfer that has enabled me to improve the standard of my family life as I dress them decently, give them proper treatment, and feed them timely and on a balanced diet. Initially, raising money to do all this was a challenge as I resorted to doing double shifts of casual work to help my husband to meet the family's needs.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Having received my money, at that moment I really felt happy and exited that I had got money that will be helping me to carry my work forward.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer Ugx 1300000 to buy seventy three pieces iron sheets and some timber. I then paid up a debt Ugx 200000 that I got to clear my child's fees. Later I then had to cater for house hold needs like treatment for my child, bought some clothing and food. I am saving up some Ugx 100000 that I will use as need arises.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to complete the construction of my house and take care of the education needs of my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am talking to my husband. I feel he takes good care of me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is providing the basic education needs of my children. I depend majorly on agriculture for most of my needs but this is not a reliable venture because of the changes in climate. My husband is a salary earner but still the income of my household is small compaired to the need. Some times my children have had to stay back home because there is no money to pay school fees.
