How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, the standard of living has improved. I can afford all basic needs like clothing, food and tuition for my children comfortably. In addition, I bought a motor bike that my spouse has put in the transport business which is making income for the family. Previously, I depended on agriculture which couldn't solve both my financial and feeding needs sufficiently since the harvest wouldn't be enough.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me the unconditional cash transfers that have helped me achieve a lot of things. There is nothing bad that it has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer for buying a motor bike.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The house we started constructing is not complete because we ran short of finances. This is the same house we are living in with no windows and a temporal door which is not all that safe. So, when we get this money, we shall embark on fully completing the construction of our house so that we can also sleep comfortably with no worries of unsafety. We shall also attach a kitchen to this house and if there is any balance left, we shall pay school fees for our children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning usually when I wake up healthy. Its the time I see my children off to school and others go to the garden.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of money to promptly pay our children's school fees and cater for other basic needs at home.
