How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now better because I was able to access better treatment and as well had a successful surgery ( hysterectomy) which I never thought I would have managed on my own. Secondly, I have also cleared off of the debts which were burdening me. Before these transfers, I could not pay off the debts because I very sick.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well because through these cash transfer I was able to have successful surgery and pay off debts. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.

I bought a cow and a bull, paid labour ( harvesting g-nuts), bought clothes and saved.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference this money has brought to my daily life is peace of mind with happiness, especially after paying children their school fees.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received my money, I felt so happy considering the fact it's money unexpected at a critical time I needed it most.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer was spent to pay children's school fees, hospital bills especially after I had an operation. I also bought a few household items like bedsheets and utensils, then the balance is being used to buy food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will pay school fees for my 5 children. From the time I seperated from my husband, he has refused to take responsibility of paying school fees for our children leaving me over burdened. Currently I am ill. I have uterus complications and had no money to seek ptoper medical attention. So I believe this will be a chance for me to get treatment.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am sharing the lunch meal with my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of money to pay school fees for my children and catering for medical bills.
