What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used the money to buy building materials such as sand and cement that I used to construct a new house. In addition to that, I also bought new steel doors and windows that I managed to fix on my house. I eventually plastered the entire house just like I had planned.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I received my second transfer some few days after my main house had collapsed and therefore I would like to have a better one this time round; one which is strong enough to withstand the effect of strong wind. I have bought 12 iron sheets already that I will use.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I like the fact that Give Directly visits individual in their households, however, I would encourage it widen its spatial coverage in terms of the poorest that would be included into the program.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfers in that currently my stress level has plummeted, despite having passed through a lot of problems. For instance, my house collapsed, but I am confidence enough that I will be able to construct a stronger one very soon courtesy of Give Directly.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received my first transfer, the first thing I did was to buy food. We never had food to eat and at the same time, my household members had started growing weak due to malnutrition, a situation that the money helped me saved!
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money from Give Directly, I felt very happy and relieved. We had been suffering from malnutrion due to lack of adequate food that the money would enable us buy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in our daily life is that we never miss food since we received our first transfer from Give Directly. We take breakfast, lunch and supper.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy sand, cement, timber, round poles, nails and iron roofing sheets which I will use to build a better house for my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having worked as a pot maker, this line of work enabled me to buy some chicken.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to build a better house for my family. My current house is dilapidated and I fear that it might collapse.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after finishing any tasks that I had planned for the day. I usually relax with my family and friends as we chat and laugh and this makes me very happy.
