How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers enabled us to pay off an accumulated debts. We reclaimed our two pieces of farmland after clearing a huge debt. I am glad that part of the cash transfers was spent on treating my sick child who was hospitalised for about three weeks. Before receiving the cash transfers, we hardly had money to buy enough food and other school necessities. More so,my children would fall sick regularly and yet we did not have money to access better medical services. I had to beg the school headteachers not to chase away my children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well to uplift me with the cash transfers. These transfers have made an impact in my household.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to treat our child and part of it was spent on paying off an old debt. I bought household items such as bedding, utensils and food.
