How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I no longer live a frustrated life. This is because I was able to settle my wife's medical bills and meet other family needs. In the past, I used to be stressed and frustruated over how to get money to settle the overwhelming family needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has greatly contributed to enviromental conservation. Before, most of the community members used to cut down trees to burn charcoal to sell for income, to construct thatched houses that couldn't last long so they always needed more wood for renovating them hence deforestation. But after receiving the transfers, permanent houses have been built and people have started up better ways of raising income like businesses, commercial farming etc. However, on my side GiveDirectly has done well by giving me the transfers that have majorly treated my wife. That being said, GiveDirectly has only done good in my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have used my second transfer for buying a bicycle, brick making and treating my spouse. I also spent it on harvesting rice and feeding my family.
