How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly came, I used to stay in a one-roomed house that served as a living room, kitchen, and bedroom. I used to feel embrace when I had visitors because they could be exposed to smoke whenever I made meals for them. There was no much space to host them when they were around. Today, my life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that, I own a three-roomed house hence I am humble with space and comfort that I nowadays enjoy. Thanks to GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly did well through uplifting the living standards of the poor in my community which at the long run promoted equality in my society . On the other hand , fulfilling its promise on a timely way cleared the propaganda that was going around the village that GiveDirectly is a scam .
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 29 ,000 KES of my second transfer to buy a dairy cow which is already paged . I expect to have its young one in a couple of months . I paid school fees for my child who is in an academy school . The remaining amount I ventured on sugarcane plantation project .

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I shall be able to buy a cow that shall produce milk for my children and surplus for sale.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening while we sit together as a family and share the meals and tell stories.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is hunger since we have little portion of land that can hardly produce enough food for the family. At times when we go out to seek manual labor in the farms we work and get promised pay to the following day and we are forced to sleep hungry with small children.
