How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I didn't planned to own a maize farm at all. I later decided to make the farm with the thought that I will reap and sell the produce. I decided to do this because my husband is a volunteer teacher at Big Geveh Public and he earns nothing to support the family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is doing everything alright. The Money given to us is very helpful and families are sending their children to school while others are investing in businesses. This is indeed very helpful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I paid laborers to clear the farm land. I also bought tools, corns seeds and food for the family.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, I have a new plan of buying building materials to build a two bedrooms house for myself. Because the house I'm currently residing in is a family house. And I don't want future embarrassment, so I want to have my own property for my children in future to come.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Everything about GiveDirectly work is good. People in the district has praised GiveDirectly greatly for the good work she has done in our communities.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Although I have not spent my money yet but I intend buying building materials for my proposed two bedrooms house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I go through a lot to get my oldest son in school. I have to make corn and cassava farms and when I harvest, I take them to sell and get money to send my son to school. We have a school in our town that stops to Grade 6 and there is no high school in our district that is closer here. This year, my son completed Grade 6 and I am worried about getting money to send him to school and further his education in Monrovia. Getting this money will mean a lot to me. If I am oportuned to receive this money, I will like to spend the money on my son's education. I will use the money to send him to school in Monrovia until he graduates from high school and if possible, university. The next thing I will like to use my transfer on is to invest in business. I have not done business before but because of my son, I will have to go the extra mile to gain profit so that I can keep him in school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what really brought me joy was when I gave birth to my son. I was so happy because I had safe delivery and nothing happened to my child too.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My family depends on the farm I make every year but this year, I did not make my farm due to financial problems. I never had any money to pay people who will work on my farm. So this year, getting food for my family is a tough thing for me. I have to buy rice by cup which is sold for L$60.00. Looking at the size of my family and the current economic situation in the country, I don't have more money that can feed my family. Presently, I am cooking for some builders who are constructing a house. After cooking for them, I take some of their food and safe for my children to eat in the evening.
