What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Most of the donation was spent on the land I bought , I am planning to plant beans in that land.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life is now better compared to the life I was living in . I was able to take care of my family such as buying them food and I also paid school fees to my children.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was in the morning , I was farming in the crop land . I heard a notification message and I immediately check my momo accunt . I felt so much joy and happiness. The first thing that came in my mind is that I was going to get out the poor life I was living in.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Our greatest challenge is having a small house, we have a big family of 9 and our house only have 2 rooms, all of our children have to share the same room boys and girls and we don't have a kitchen, we cook in our own room and this situation is very uncomfortable to live with and we have struggle with it for a long time.
We don't have enough land to cultivate. We have to do casual labour daily to be able to provide for our family and be able to raise money to rent a small land to cultivate. Our children are not able to have school uniform and other materials, which make some of them drop out because of that uncomfortability in their education, and those who are still in school have to struggle a lot.
What is the happiest part of your day?
A few days ago we have received a modern stove from the government and now we are able to cook well and we don't have to live in a room full of smoke which have been making us sick for a long time but now we know that this is starting to change. And we have received solar panels which are helping us a lot , because we no longer live in the dark and we can walk around at night without any fear.
We have been able to gain unexpected money from our garlic harvest , it was our first time planting garlic and this has helped us have money to pay out our debts and we plan to continue it’s cultivation.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first installment we plan to buy beds , matress, clothes and food for our children and we also plan to renovate our house starting from the roof because it rains inside and we will clean on the inside and buy some materials that we need like furnitures and cooking pots.
In the second instalment, we plan to build a cowshed because our cow currently doesn't have any , and we plan to build a kitchen. We will be buying school uniforms for our children and paying for their school fees. And the balance we plan to buy livestocks, we want to buy a goat for $50 and rent a land.
Receiving this money means having a development, we will no longer live in extreme poverty, and we will be able to have a good standard of living and live better.
