How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, I didn't have the goal of doing a palm oil business but when I received a huge amount of money from GiveDirectly, I thought to do something that will enable me to always have cash. I established a new business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
When the staff visit the field, they talk to us in a kind manner. When I felt sick, I didn't have money to visit the hospital and so I borrowed money. It's because of GiveDirectly's help that I'm able to pay my debtors. I'm convinced that GiveDirectly is doing a great job.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought palm oil which is cheaper during the dry season and expensive during the rainy reason. With the huge profits I will make from the sales, I will help my family in many ways. I also bought food and paid my debts.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I receive this money, I will use some to start a business and use the balance to pay my son school fees which will bring me joy. The reason I want to make business with some of the money, I believe it will help improve our living conditions, my son and I. My husband and I had a large business running before and we also build houses to maintain the family but he left me and marry another woman so I left everything with him went away with one of my sons, since then, I have been striving to get things working for us.
What is the happiest part of your day?
One thing that has brought me Joy or happiness is when a man who is one of my sisters neighbour promised to pay my son school fees. I send my son to spend time with my sister and her family, there where the man saw my son and started liking him, thereby promising to pay his school fees and also took him to his house to spend time with he and his family as well. The reason this has brought me joy or happiness is because I haven't been able to pay my son fees so seeing someone who is not even related to us saying such thing, has brought me so much joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge I'm facing is the lack of Money. As I said earlier my husband and I divorced in 2016 and since then, things haven't been easy for me, especially taking care of my son and also trying to send him to school.
