How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because I am now taking milk in my home. This has boosted immunity in my children given the nutrients in cow milk. I used my second transfer to buy a cow that was expecting and it calved after two days of buying it. I had really taken long (from the time I was a young girl - if I can remember) without taking milk to this time.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that has enabled me to use as I please. In the other hand I see nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The mere fact that I have money, I really feel relieved, happy and stress free. This is because I had got money that is helping me in various ways like pay off my debts, feed my family, buy mattresses and light up my house. This has really made the biggest difference in my daily life.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy that I had to run out of the house with shouts of joy just as everybody in the area. This is because the people in the area were lamenting! This money has at last come to us as well since we had really waited for it.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer Ugx 290000 to buy some some household items such as mattress, solar, food, and clothing.
My husband as well bought a phone at Ugx 50000.
I paid up a debt of Ugx 60000.
I am saving up the balance of Ugx 1300000 that I plan to use to buy bull that will help in the cultivation work and then other arising issues.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I intend to improve on my livelihood throuh increase farming. This is only possible if buy oxen and ox-plough to facilitate easy tilling of land. This has never been possible since I lack money, but with Givedirectly transfers my dream will come true. The produce got from farming I will be selling them to raise money for paying school fees hence my children may be well placed after studying.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Normally after a busy day of looking for how to maintain my family. I take time evening hours sharing how best to manage family affairs with friends at opau trading centre. This has enable me stay a happy life with my spouse.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of farm land. Iam placed at fixed with only two gardens to cultivate and they are not productive. What I earn from this land is not enough to enable me plan well within the family needs. My family priorities are some times forgone in favour of others.
