How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers have uplifted me from poverty. I had no property of my own and I was miserable. Agriculture being our major economic activity, it was very demanding for me because I had no oxen then. However, I acquired oxen which have simplified farming at home. I am very grateful because I had no hopes of ever acquiring oxen.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well to send us cash transfers directly without any third party. The other thing is that the cash transfers are not conditional as compared to loans which require collateral security. In overall,GivwDirectly has only done great things for the community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
The second cash transfer was spent on purchasing livestock worth UGX 1600000.

What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at lunch time when I am enjoying a meal with my household members. It's difficult to find what to eat, when I have eaten lunch, it is the source of my happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Feeding is my biggest hardship. I only rely on farming for both cash and food crops and that makes it difficult for me to manage both. Some times, I take a lot of time in people's gardens and that leaves my household with little or no food to consume.
