Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Given the fact that I bought bed and mattress, I have a good nights sleep compared to before when I used a very small mattress and as that on the ground. I could just keep turning and waiting for the morning light to break due to the un comfort I felt. In addition to this, my children are also too happy because I was able to buy them clothes, an activity I had taken really long without doing.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy. I had also got money to use as I pleased and at that, without any strings attached.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy a bull at Ugx 900000. I then hired a piece of farm land at Ugx 400000 I also bought some household items such as bed and mattress (150000), and clothing. I then paid up a debt of Ugx 200000 in my Sacco.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have always longed to own oxen and ox-plough to facilitate easy ploughing of land for planting but this has become a song. Therefore it's a dream come true by receiving givedirectly transfers. I plan to spend the money on buying oxen and ox-plough which will enable my family maximise crop production as the main economic activity for earnings. This will both improve on our livingstandards in terms feeding, clothing and social life.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The joy of togetherness I realise in the evening hours when my children return from school. My children tell interesting stories from their study experience. I get a feeling of them having brighter futures.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. My family relys on farming as a source of earning, however this has never been possible since I lack oxen. Iam therefore un able to sustain the needs of my family members and some of them are becoming malnutritious.
