Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that we have secured a plot of land and this makes me very happy. We can now cultivate freely without any worries. We had no financial assistance to enable us acquire land especially for agriculture.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I did not know that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I met my neighbours on their way to withdraw money and it compelled me to check my mobile money account. When I saw the mobile money message , I became very happy because I needed money to help our family.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1200000 to complete the land purchase. The balance was spent on food and on agriculture.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My aim is to spend the transfers for buying a plot of land. Iam currently staying in uncompleted plot and the owners continue demanding a lot. We may lose it if I do not complete payments soon and this has never made me settled. Givedirectly money will enable my family have ownership of this plot. I feel it's going to be relief since the owners will no longer disturb me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest moments is always afternoon hours. Iam able to praise and worship my God. This has always brought peace in my life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of money. I became hated by the children of my spouse's first wife and they denied me acces to land. I even almost lost marriage since no one was on my side. My life has never been easy due to lack of money to allow me manage the family affairs like providing basic needs for the family members.
