How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to build my own house. I been living in my sister's house since. I had thought of having my own house but the lack of money could not allowed me to build my own house. Now that I have been given this amount of cash, I am going to focus on building my own house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by allowing us to decide by ourselves what to do with our money. Moreover, GiveDirectly makes sure to visit every households in the town. In this way no household is left out except the household refuses to be enrolled.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Through my most recent transfer, I was able to buy one bundle of zinc, a cartoon of nails, and twelve gallons of gas. I used my first transfer to buy two bundles of zinc. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for giving me this money.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was in my village when I heard people shouting that givedirectly has sent them money. my husband when to the network areas to check if we have received ours. And luckly for us, he saw a huge amount of money in it. When he brought the news to me, I was very much happy and rejoicing that day. I was happy because we haven't seen Ngo giving money to people free with out paying back. My husband and I make farm for living. Life been so hard on us. In that to even get food for my family used to be very difficult for me. Our plan was to build our owned house in my village, because the house we are living in right now is our family house. But with the help from givedirectly, our life has changed for the better and we are now starting to build our dream house. Many thanks to Givedirectly for their support.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life now is we are able to buy start building our dream house in my village. We also have savings now to support our family. Our life is better better than before. Many thanks to Givedirectly for their support.

When I received my first transfer I was able to buy six (6) inches mattress. We also bought two (2) bundle of zinc to build our new house. My husband bought enough foodstuff for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan for this transfer is a build my own house and improve my life. I want to build because I do not want to live the rest of my life in another person's house. Besides, according to what I heard from the meeting, GD wants us to use this money to change or improve our lives. Therefore, building my own house will change my life.
What is the happiest part of your day?
"I felt so good last year December when my husband gave me 5,000 LRD for my Christmas. That brought me so much joy. Because it was the first of it kind".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major problem is capital, because in the absent of money one can not improve their living condition. For now, I want to own my own house but I can not afford it.
