How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I view my life as different because I was able to buy a sewing machine using the transfer. This has created a business opportunity as I train the apprentice in my small shop and also use to make clothes for my village people and I get paid. I now have a means of earning daily income for my family. We now eat well and dress well too because of this income. I am proud to be self-employed!
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
There is a lot going on in my life due to the transfers. I leased a farm which I planted sugarcane which when we harvest will generate more income for my family. I now own a farm which will enable my largescale farming to come to pass. Thanks to GiveDirectly I also own a sewing machine which we use to get money for family's daily upkeep.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the transfer on leasing a farm as I did not have enough farms for large scale farming. Upon receiving the transfer, I saw an opportunity to expand my small scheme of farming on a large scale. This helps boost my harvest hence increase my income which will influence our living standards as a family. I also ploughed the farm, bought sugarcane seeds and fertilizer to improve and boost our farm productivity. My family now gets to eat well and healthier food due to transfers from GiveDirectly.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is constant struggle to provide for my family since the current employer to my husband more often delays to pay him his wages.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is late in the evening when we sit together with my family members and share our family short term and long term goals, especially when we suggest what to do to accomplish such goals.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that my life and that of my family members will drastically change. I shall use money to supplement food provision to my household, to buy household items as well as to expand my farming activities, hence I shall always have food in plenty.
