Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was a life changing moment for me. I felt so happy when I saw the message on my phone. I hurriedly left my farm work I was doing and told my wife that the money has come. We were all happy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is the fulfillment of getting my own structure in my name. I always felt bad because people don't respect me based on the fact that I was living with someone. Receiving this money has brought total change and respect to my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My wife and I decided to buy 2 bundles of zinc to start our own structure since we are squatting. I bought 4 palm oil tins to start a new business. I bought one bag of rice and fish for feeding.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Since I completed my high school education, I have not been privileged to further my education due to the lack of funds to do so. If I receive the cash transfer, I will use a portion of it to further my education while the rest will be used to establish a business to support my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Things have really been difficult for me, but waking up every morning and seeing my family and I alive despite of our struggle is something that makes me happy everyday. We go through the day and survive by the little that we have to eat.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I do not have any means of earning an income to meet the basic needs of my family. Securing food for my family is a major challenge for me which cause us to sometimes not have enough to eat.
