What does receiving this money mean to you?
"What I plan to do with my cash transfer is to recondition my house, I choose to recondition my house so that I can have a decent place to lie my head, and so that my grandchildren can have sleeping space whenever they come to visit me. Since my husband died, things had not been easy on me, I can't do any farm work right now due to my age, so I survive only by the palm brooms that I make and sell, but my earning is not sufficient to feed me and carry on my project.".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"What had brought me happiness in the last six months is, seeing myself alive is a testimony, whenever I see myself in good health and moving strong, it makes me happy, even up to the first time GiveDirectly entered our town and brought this good news it also brought me happiness as well."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"Those challenges I'm currently facing are, 'my health, and reconditioning my house'; as I said, I'm a widow, and I'm aging, I don't really hustle like before, what I do this time is to go to the bush and pick palm branches to make brooms, these brooms are what I sell to survive, but sometimes my health troubles me, however, these little earnings I generate from brooms selling aren't enough to carry on my project."
