Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was right in my kitchen when my phone gave an alert of the transfer. Upon receiving this message, I hurriedly called my son to read my message because I cannot read or write. However, as well as he saw the message, he told me that Give Directly has sent your transfer. I was happy at the moment because I needed money to pay my children fees and renovate my house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have been empowered to renovate my house since I started receiving my transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I'm planning to save my transfer and wait for the next transfer to renovate my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to send my children to school and use the remaining amount to start a business. My husband and I have to burn coal every time to get money to pay our children's school fees. Looking at our age now, our strength is not like before so I will use that money to pay their tuition. The next thing I plan to do is to have another source of income. I will start a business to help with the same issue, paying fees. That way, we will not have to always burn coal before we can get money and feed our children and also send them to school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was very happy when all of my children passed in school. Hustling hard to send a child to school is not an easy thing, then, just imagine that I have eight children to sponsor in school. The hard work I do got the needed results when my children made me proud at the end of the school year. For that reason, I have gotten more strength to keep hustling and supporting them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My challenge is about finding money to pay my children's school fees. Education is a good thing and I want my children to learn so that they can be useful and prominent citizens tomorrow. My means of earning money, burning coal, is tedious but the money we get from the sale of the coal is not enough to feed our children and take care of them, at the same time.
