Transparency has been there throughout the process Those who have been displaced from villages due to landslides should be considered because they have not moved at their will, GD should not exclude them

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was working around home then I heard the message and to check it was mobile money. I felt so joyous because I couldn't believe I had got that money. My first thought was to talk to my husband who's in Kenya and tell him of the good news
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I feel I was in a bad condition before getting this money. I now feel comfortable because there is hope that me and my family can relocate anytime and move away from this hill

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
With the cash transfer, I plan to buy a plot of land in Nabumali at USD 810, I also opt to build a house worthy USD 540, I will use balance of USD 521 to start up a business of charcoal selling so that I can be in position to cater for children's requirements at school and also making some savings.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I felt very happy when I bought a cow which has helped me get milk for my people at and also selling some to meet some basic needs like soap and buying food some times.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge I face is landslides which swept away my crops leaving us with no food. We always struggle to food and school fees for our children because we used to sell part of the products to meet school requirements. The landslide also keep us in worries that we might die any time.
