How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since I started receiving the cash transfer, my new goals are to improve on our house by plastering it. Thanks to Give Directly for making my dream come true.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What Give Directly has done for us can't be compared to any other works done by other NGO. They did extremely well in changing our lives by giving us unconditional cash. Thanks Give Directly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I saved the cash that I received because of the death of mine mother. I intend buying materials to improve on our house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 5pm in the evening. When I went to check my phone as usually to where we can get our network. There was a message confirming that I have received money from GiveDirectly. I felt so happy because I have never received such amount of money before in entire life with out working for it. I immediately inform my husband and other members of our village and the entire celebrated with joy. It was one of the best evening we have ever had as family. My fists and important thing was to go pay my children school fees and complete my house. This was always my wish all along. I went to withdrew the money and plan with my family the next day.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life is that I have paid school fees for my three (3) children in primary and secondary school. This was the biggest challenge that I had. My children used to be sent home and this was so stressful. I had no extra money to pay their school fees. I depend on farming and causal jobs in the village. Because of the recurring basic needs I was not able to save any money for school feel. Their performance were being affected in school. They were very demoralized. When I received the transfer from GiveDirectly I felt so happy. I paid all the balances fees and my children were able to go back to school. I have peace of mind to do other things now. I no longer stress up like before. GiveDirectly has changed our living conditions. I am so grateful for the support.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Spent half of the money to pay school fees for my three children in various primary and secondary school. This was one of my main focus because my children used to be sent home from school and this was so demoralizing and stressfu for me. Currently they are back in school because I have paid their School fees. I used some of the amount to buy six (6) bags of cement planning on completing my new house. The rest on food.
