How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am Isaac Cole from Gbaigbon town, Bomi county Liberia.when I started receiving cash transfer from Givedirectly, I decided to continue payment of my Kids school fees. I was able to complete payment of their fees after receiving my second cash transfer and started business with my third cash transfer. In my opinion, Givedirectly didn't only give me money but also told me to use the money wisely and was following up to understand the decision I made in using my money. I am so grateful to this noble organization and want extend thanks and appreciation to those who contributed in helping me. May the almighty God continue to shower his blessing upon them.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal is to build a house for my family, I have 13 children who I want to inherit the house in the future. The house I am staying in right now belongs to my parents who are dead, I don't want my children to make confusion with my siblings children in the future because of this house, that is why I want to build my own house for my children inheritance. I also want to establish a good business that will keep generating more money for me to continue supporting my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by counselling us properly which give us guidelines on how to spend the transfer though they are not forcing us but the advices given us during the town hall meeting is helpful. They are fair in their processes and their help is unconditional without any strings being attached to it. I haven't noticed anything GiveDirectly is not doing well in this town, I am okay with everything.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my third transfer to buy some building materials so that I can start my house project, I also paid two of my children school fees and I bought food with the remaining amount.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"If I am successful to receive the cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I will use it to send my children to school. I have 7 children and the finance I get from the farm work I do is insufficient to pay the tuition for all 7 of them. I will also used portion of the cash to start up a small business for my wife here in the village. The intent of this business is to raise extra money that take care of other household needs. The business we would love is establish is selling food stuffs or provisions because these are commodities that are frequently bought in the village."
What is the happiest part of your day?
What has brought joy and happiness to my life in the last 6 months happened last Friday, October 15, 2020 where I received a sum of $20USD from an old friend called Morris Varney. I used the money to buy a 25kg bag of rice. This made me so happy because I had no money to buy food for the household."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" My biggest hardship is finance. I need finance to start a business, and make sure all of my children are enrolled in school. My wife and I are not educated, as a result of this all we do is farming. Consequently, the cash we get for the produce we sell from the farm is issufficient to provide food for the home, pay the children school fees and others."
