How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I have managed to renovate my house and buy for my children new mattresses and bed sheets which has made me very happy. Previously, I didn't have enough money to renovate my house since the little I got from agricultural produce was spent on children's education and food. Some of my children slept on mats and others on very old mattresses.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to give me unconditional cash that has enabled me renovate my house and acquire items that I did have before. GiveDirectly only did good on my side and I am forever great for the cash I received.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase 10 bags of cement, 4 windows, a trip of sand , a trip of aggregate, a trip of bricks and paid construction workers who renovated my house. Furthermore, I bought 4 mattresses, 6 pairs of bed sheets for my children. I have not yet spent UGX 200,000 but I intend to spend it my children's education.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Currently, my daily life is surrounded with a lot of joy and happiness because I have paid off the mortgage amount and regained ownership of my land for crop cultivation. I send my sincere appreciation to GiveDirectly family and the donor community.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received a message from GiveDirectly at a bout 7:00 am indicating that I had received money from GiveDirectly, I shared with my spouse who joined me to ululate for joy. The joy came because, transfers would help the family to pay of the debt for the land that was mortgaged in order to pay school fees.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 500000 for paying a debt for an acre of land that I had mortgaged for my children's school fees. I have spent UGX 500000 for buying cement, sand and paying for labour for the builder who is renovating my house. The balance of UGX 700000, I have kept it with intent to spend on buying a cow as an investment for the household.
