How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life currently is different in that the transfers I have received have brought about understanding, unity and peace in my family. This is because we are able to acquire what ever we desire and we were talked to that this money should not bring about division in families but rather development and so, we decided to embark on staying together. Prior to receiving this money my family was always at logger heads on how to raise money to resolve some family needs like feeding among others.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done really amazing things in my life like bringing about peace and unity in my family which was almost not there due to lack of money to cater for some family needs like feeding, medication among others . This is through the transfers that I received to help handle those needs. However, GiveDirectly has nothing wrong it has done. It helped us a lot.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy an additional bull that would help in ploughing, hired two farm lands, bought some seedlings such as rice, maize and ground nuts. I then used the balance of my transfer to buy some household items such as food, mattress, bedding, utensils and clothes

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest change in my daily life is that, I sleep well and live a happy life. This is because, I have acquired beddings, an ox and reposed the acres of land that were in the hands of the money lender. Previously, I planted my crops late and had only an acre of land to grow my crops. This therefore led to low yields and food shortage in my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was too excited together with my family when I received the money. For I knew it was going to sort my family problems most especially paying off the debt that denied me access to my acres of land.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to pay off a debt of UGX 600000 that made me reposes the two acres of land that I had given as collateral. I bought an ox UGX 680000, an ox plough at UGX 200000 and household items like utensils, beddings and clothes at UGX 220000
