How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Prior to GiveDirectly transfers, I used to survive on making local liquor to sustain the wellbeing of my household in terms of feeding, paying schools, uniform and books. The profits I generated from this business wasn't enough to acquire a plot of land. I occupied my ancestral land that caused wrangles between me and my brothers. In my tradition, girls are not supposed to inherit land but since life became complicated in town I decided to return to my father's land which belonged to my brothers. Currently, I have a peace of mind which fills my heart happiness because I purchased a plot of land which in future I will build, shift and avoid land wrangles with my brothers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my view, GiveDirectly's transfers have uplifted my community from the bad conditions we lived in. We slept in grass thatched houses which leaked year in year out, conditions of living have improved in that some people acquired household items like clothings, beddings, feeding, started businesses and constructed iron roofed houses . I did not see anything wrong by GiveDirectly in my community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I decided to spend my transfer to complete payment for a plot of land. The remaining money I bought livestock and a solar lump.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have got 2 acres of land that will increase my crop production and this will help me in feeding my children. I didn't have any acre of land to cultivate, I hired small plots of land to cultivate which resulted to low crop production.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money from GiveDirectly, I became very happy because I have never got that amount of money in my entire life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I lent out UGX 1,500,000 in exchange of an acre of land that I'm planning to plant cassava, maize and G nuts. I hired another acre of land at UGX 150,000 and the remaining UGX 50,000 I spent on transport and buying food.
