How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I have built an iron roofed house which I am currently staying in. Prior to receiving this cash, I was sleeping in grass thatched hut that leaked whenever it rained.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well to give me money that I used for constructing an iron roofed house.GiveDirectly has done good only.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase a door, 16 pieces of iron sheets, 8 bags of cement, binding wire and labour for construction. I also bought utensils, food and a mattress.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I'm now feeling better because I was able to get treatment and I'm happy that I can now build my permanent structure which I never thought I would have done.

The moment I recieved my money, I felt happy because I was lucky to get money from GiveDirectly for free.

I have spent my first transfer to purchase building materials (bricks, sand, iron sheets)at UGX 1,270,000, transport at UGX 270,000, household goods at UGX 120,000, treatment at UGX 20,000 and food (cassava flour) UGX 20,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When i receive this money, i will set up an iron sheets house because there is no grass to sustain a grass thatched house am currently occupying.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when i wake up when the children are healthy and there is food for them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced is lack of money to pay my children's school fees.
