Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was extremely happy when I recieved my money. I have been sick for sometime so I sent my son to go where we have network and check the account. While I was cooking in the kitchen, he called me to say my money had come. I began to dance and jubilate because this has never happened to me before.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I am a farmer, I plant cassava and pepper to survive. It would've taken me an entire lifetime to get such money. I could've still been living in this deplorable condition, my children wouldn't have had the slightest hope of getting proper education. These two if not anything else is the biggest change in my life and without the payment from GiveDirectly, there would've been no chance for me at all.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My intention is to build a new house. My house is very old and I have lived in it for over 20 years with my children and husband. Apart from the house, I want to use some for my children's school fees.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My roof of isn't in good condition. My 84 year old husband is unable to do any pbysical (farming) work to earn money. The little casual work I do only helps with food for my husband, my illing mother and I. If I should benefit from this cash transfer, I will recondition my house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Getting a day's meal for the family is a major challenge. My greatest joy in any giving day is getting our day's meal and seeing my family healthy and alive.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My husband is old and unable to help with the farming work, I am the only child for my mother, she stays here with me and she too is old and very sick. I have to do some casual labor on the farm of others to earn a day's meal for the family. The house we currently live in is in a deployable condition, the little money earn from the casual labor isn't sufficient to feed the family and recondition the house. My major challenge is access to cash.
