How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life is different in that I sleep under an iron sheet roofed house and this brings joy. In addition, my family dresses better. Before, we had just a few old clothes; and when it rained, we slept under under a leaking grass thatched house due to damage caused by rats.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well giving money that has enabled me to build an iron sheet roofed house. In addition, it's not selective when giving out money in the village like other organizations that want specific group of people such as the disabled or widows only. I can't identify anything it hasn't done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent second transfer to buy cement to plaster house walls, a door and two windows. I also bought household items like children's clothes, mattress, and utensils, then a goat and a bicycle.
