How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because very soon, I will have a place to call my own. The transfers enabled me to purchase a piece of land that I am soon going to start building myself a house. I will then relocate to this house so that I can start some developments in my land. Acquiring this piece of land has enhanced my relationship with my brothers because they know that we will not be fighting over the piece of land very soon.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did a good job in uplifting our lives in different ways by giving us unconditional transfers. Their officers did splendid work in our village since they did not have any form of discrimination and I do not see anything that they did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer, I spent some amount to buy a piece of land after topping up some amount using my first transfer, barbed wire and poles to use in fencing this land. I settled on this since so that I can have a place to call my home. I am still living at home and I had started having some disputes with my brothers since I had built my house in the land they consider as their inheritance. Also, I bought some building materials that I am intending to use in building a house. I still have some amount that I will use in paying a mason and to buy some materials that might be needed during the construction work.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life ever since I started receiving transfers from Give Directly is that I was able to buy a piece of land. I can now do farming as a full-time job since I don't have to lease land which is always not available. comfortably and peacefully. You see leasing is always a good idea but the problem with it is that the owner may not be willing to lease it out every season which is very inconveniencing at times. I am glad I now own my land I can now do farming more comfortably and peacefully.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around half past midnight when a message notification woke me up. At first, I thought it was a random message that could have been sent by mobile service providers. When I woke up I was surprised, to realize that it was a confirmation that my first transfers had been sent to me. I remember I started praying, thanking God for the blessing I had just received. It was a very emotional and happy moment
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used part of the transfers to buy a piece of land. This has been my goal for a long time now. Since I am a single mother I was given a very small piece of land, space was enough to only build a house without leaving space for a kitchen garden or a playing ground for my kids. I, therefore, could not practice farming. I relied on small grocery stores that could not allow me to have enough income to buy my own piece of land since I could spend all of it on my daily household expenditure. Apart from that I also spent part of the transfers to improve my grocery business by adding my stock. In addition to that, I was able to buy other household items such as a mattress, blankets, and a few clothes for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will enable me to buy a small piece of land of my own since i still live within my parents' land. Although they gave me the chance to build my house in their own land, my brothers always threaten to chase me away from home. I will use part of my transfer to also build a house and buy goats and sheep to rear in my farm.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am a vegetable vendor and my work entails going to people's farms to buy vegetables then latter sell them in the market. I am usually happy in the evening since this is the time all my stock of the day is sold out and this is the time i head home thanking God for the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My life has been full of challenges in that i have had three miscarriages in the past three years. This is sorrowful since i face ridicules from my neighbours and friends tend to avoid me. Staying alone in my house makes me feel lonely but i pray that God blesses me with a child one day
