How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that l managed to invest in large scale sugarcane farming. I have never done this before because I could not afford and I also did not have a large farm to do the farming. I am very sure when we get enough rain fall, I will be able to get enough yield and sell it to and get money for my daily up keep. I will also start a small scale business of selling domestic goods, as my alternative source of income. I will not depend on farming a lone as I am doing now.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did a very good think by informing people a bout their program before rolling it out. This helped people made a right decision and even interms of expenditure so many people spend their money wisely. It also good the money was being send directly to somebody's phone and not involving third party.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer on farming where by I spent money to lease two hectares of land that contains sugarcane in it. By leasing a land containing sugarcane is more cheaper and profitable than leasing a land and starting all the farming process. This will also not consume much of my time being that everything have been done I will be able to have time to do other things. I feel l should invest in farming because I do not have any other source of income a part from farming and that is where I get my daily bread. I am sure when we have enough rain I will be able to get enough yield that will sustain me for so long without depending on my relatives. I also be able to start small scale business of selling domestic goods in the near by center so that I can have another source of income a part from farming which sometimes can fail to do well. The remaining balance I spent to buy food stuffs being that by that time I did not have money to buy for my family any thing to feed on.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I shall be able to boost my little business by improving fruit stock and fish stock, which I hope shall increase my earnings.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is usually in the evening while preparing meals. Business is hard with few customers and to have gotten money to buy food brings that joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life was travelling a long distance to get my heavily pregnant daughter inlaw to hospital to deliver. She had delivery complications that needed more specialised care and I had to use all my business savings to sort her medical bills.
