Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Before receiving this transfer, I used to hire oxens from other people the money I would have spent for settling other family needs like buying seeds, clothing and proper feeding. Uponing getting my money from GiveDirectly, I acquired oxens that will help me plough my land and I expecting my standard of living to improve because now the money I get will be spent to meet other family needs. In addition, I am planning to burn bricks that I will be used for constructing an iron roofed house once I receive my second transfer which will relieve me from my current hut that leaks whenever it rains.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I got a message from GiveDirectly at around 6:00 AM indicating that I had received money on my mobile money account, I was overwhelmed by joy because this money would enable own livestock.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1,200,000 to acquire oxen, firewood for burning bricks at UGX 300,000, UGX 200,000 I bought a mattress and food items.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to build iron-roofed house for better accomadation. Iam staying in a roaten grass thatched house which leaks whenever it rains. We end up using cups and basins for collecting dropping water to avoid spoiling our property. When I receive money , putting up a better house, for my family members will be apirioty. This house will provide safety to my property and the family members.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My neigbours take some time in the afternoon hours chatting with me on development. This because the whole day Iam busy doing domestic and garden work. This has helped me to do fairly at home since it makes me forget some stress.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of land. Iam very poor and unable to sustain the needs of my family members because I donot have land for crop production. I depend on a plot of land for small scale farming hence this does not support the family needs.
