How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have three children in School, two in secondary school and one in a primary boarding school. Paying school fees for my children has proved to be one of the hardest thing for me. I was at the verge of selling my only cow to help raise school fees for my children. Give directly came in handy to help me pay my accumulated school fees. It has given me hope of securing a better future for my children and pride as a responsible parent. I do not think i would also be living in a better house like the one am living in now
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I believe Give directly is not biased at all. It sent us money directly through Mpesa. This gave us an assurance that all the money meant to reach us actually did .However, Give directly should in future consider the unmarried ladies who have their own children and are staying with their parents. Most of them did not receive these transfers while they are the ones who are most in need.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 15,000 KES of my second transfer to pay school fees for my children;i have always desired to give my children the best in terms of education since this will give them a brighter future. I also bought two cows at 12000 KES each; this investment is towards ensuring that my children will not have any problems in their studies. I invested 10000 KES on my quarrying business; It is through quarrying that i put food on the table for my family. I do not want my family to ever go hungry again. i used The remaining amount to buy household needs such as food and clothes for my family. I am just so indebted to indebted to Give directly.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have always desired to be a motorbike rider and indulge in the business of ferrying goods and people to earn additional income for our family. Unfortunately, I am allergig to dust and strong wind. Hence, I can not engage in the motorbike business and thus can not attain the anticipated income. As a result, my family lives below our initial expection.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at the evening after completing my day's activities. This is the time that I interact and socialize with my neighbors. I feel refreshed and learn more regarding my village and its environs.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
God is great! This money has comed at the right. Receiving this money means that my business (of buying and selling milk) will expand a lot. Accordingly, we shall have more income and enjoy a higher standard of living. Long live GD!
