How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Paying school fees has been one of my greatest challenge as a parent. On several occasions, i have had my children dependent on neighbors mercies and well wishers to help raise school fees for my children. I have no formal employment to give me enough earnings to pay their school fees. Our land is also largely arid and we only do subsistence farming. Give directly has renewed my hopes and aspirations of giving my children the best education i can. i believe they will clear school and live better lives.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
On a personal level, i am so indebted to Give directly; We were very happy when Give directly came in to help us, We are looking forward to having you guys again in our village. I believe i do not have anything that i think you did wrong, at least not in our village
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer on paying school fees for my children. paying school fees has been one of my biggest headaches as a parent. Our land is largely semi arid and we can hardly practice any farming here. We live from hand to mouth and we get little or no money to save towards payment of school fees. When Give directly came, it supported me a great deal in pushing towards the realization of the dreams of my children. Having built a house from my first transfers, i also spent part of my second transfer to buy household need such as chairs and blankets. My life has changed for the better and am so happy about these transfers.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that I live in a more comfortable house and I have enough food for my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the transfer, I was so happy that I finally got a helping a hand especially with the old age.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the transfer that I received to buy a cow for rearing and also built a house. I also bought food for my family and gave some amount to my grandchildren.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
God is great. Receiving this money means that we shall have enough food for our family for the next couple of years. We have been languishing in poverty and struggling to get something to eat due to our advanced ages.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at the evening when sharing dinner with my family. We capitalize on dinner because of the laxity of food. Hence, enjoying the only meal of the day with my family is an interesting experience.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we have faced in life is inadequacy of food. We normally survive on a meal per day. We have a small and infertile piece of land that can hardly sustain us. Besides, our advanced ages are posing a challenge because we cannot manage to till the land or purchase quality farm inputs.
