How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Honestly if not for Givedirectly this year would have been full of hunger in my life. I only had a single bag of maize to take me through the next harvest which was not enough. Thanks to My GD funds i bought more bags of maize to sustain my family and i.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly really does well in its operations. Giving us a huge amount of money tops it all as this helps one plan on what to do with the money unlike smaller amounts where one can not do or see a huge difference in their life
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am using my second transfer to build a new house. Using my first transfer i had bought iron sheets and also paid people to mould bricks so that i pay builders for building the house. I also bought food adding on the maize bags i already owned. I also saved some of the money to use in the future for the emergencies that might come in my home.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I want to be able to provide for my family and live a comfortable life and receiving this money gives me that opportunity because I will be able to purchase a mattress so we no longer sleep on the floor every night and build a new home. I want to build a better home with a roof with iron sheets so we do not suffer during the rainy season and get sick because we are sleeping in a damp house. This money means having a better life
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is anytime during the day my family is able to find food and my entire family is together eating.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I've faced is constantly getting sick because we do not have enough food because I am unable to find small jobs to feed my family. We stay far away from the nearest hospital and it is challenging for us to get there because of distance
