How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed drastically ever since GiveDirectly chose to send me the cash transfers. The cash transfers enabled the construction of a two roomed permanent house. Currently, I sleep under a nice comfortable house courtesy of the GiveDirectly cash transfers. In the past, I was torn apart because I did not have money to maintain the grass thatched house and considering the fact that there is scarcity of grass. However, I am now happy that I will never go through the stress and struggle of searching for grass anymore.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to provide me a phone. I had never operated a phone in my life before. I am also happy that they decided to send money directly to the needy without asking for anything in return.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the cash transfer to purchase two bags of cement worth UGX 46000 and a door worth UGX 130000 and a window worth UGX 25000. I bought a cow worth UGX 400000. I paid the builders UGX 240000. I bought a metallic box UGX 25000 and other household items like soap, sugar , shoes, clothes worth UGX 200000.
