How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my savings have grown. I have been able to save more as I spent the money GiveDirectly sent me instead of the those I have been saving and in the next four months, I know my goal of starting a business shall come to pass. This means more profits and a more comfortable life for me and my family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to start a cereals business. I am tired of doing hard labor that does not give me enough money to sustain my family. Before I started receiving the transfers, I was saving to build the house therefore I am now planning to divert that money into my cereals business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I spent my transfers to build a house because initially, I had a very small house that could not comfortably accommodate my entire family. Apart from that, the house was in a poor shape with the walls falling off especially during the rainy season and this was putting our lives in danger though we had to cope with the situation. Right now my family lives comfortably in a semi-permanent that is is still new and bigger than the one I had before. My initial plan was to build the house two years from now due to my limited finances but GD came through for me and I have already managed to construct the house two years prior to my initial plan.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I am a casual laborer, I have to do a lot of hard work to at least to see my family have something on the table. Sometimes I do not get much which hurts me a lot that is why after GiveDirectly came to my aid and gave me some money that I spent building my house that was also not giving me peace, the money I have been saving for that purpose is now going to business. I have saved alot and still saving more for this. This will definately change my life in the next six months. More profits and a comfortable sustainable life for my family.

My life is currently different in that I have hope of doing something I never thought would happen any time soon, that is building my own house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months,I hope to have a stable business which means more income for my family.Having my own house will make me more confident and earn me more respect among my peers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I received the payments is that I am now living a less stressful life because the biggest burden I had has been taken off my shoulders.I am even more happy that I will stop being a bother in brother's house and be independent in my own house.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of a steady income. I work for someone at an agrivet shop and the salary is so small and inconsistent. Sometimes I get paid late thus the plans I have cannot be fulfilled because money is delayed
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I come home from work and meet my family. I feel good when I see them healthy and happy
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfers on building a semi permanent house since currently I stay in my brothers house. This does not make me happy because my wife just gave birth and she needs a place of her own.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am most proud of is being able to buy goats that I am currently waiting on to give birth so that I can start selling them to get some income and start a business of selling fruits for my wife at the village market.
