How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have experienced a big financial relief since my wife now helps in providing the basic needs to our family. I have been able to save more money than before thus enabling me to spend on other projects. I only assist where necessary but on rare occasions. I thank Give Directly Ia m now staying in a better house, in fact, my neighbours envy how I have a very decent house, initially, it looked ugly because it was all muddy.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any other new or additional goals because I have not finished the work I had begun. I am almost finishing the work of plastering my house though there are a few areas that need to be redone, this work was being done during the rainy seasons and there are a few areas that the rain destroyed.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I thank Give Directly for having considered both of us in this transfer, my wife and I are both beneficiaries. As a result of this my wife doesn't depend on me fully for livelihood, in fact, she at times buys foodstuffs and other basic needs for our children. I have a lot of financial relief and this has made me achieve my greatest achievement in my life of plastering my house. I have been using my transfers on buying sand, cement, and other materials that are used for plastering my house. We had agreed with my wife that the major project to be done first is plastering our house, at times she even chips in by buying a few bags of cement. We are more united than before, and what was a hard nut to crack for us in our family we have achieved through the help of Give DIrectly. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that we are living in a decent house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I would wish to live a life better than the one I am in now, we are soon going to finish the project of plastering of house and we do the painting. I expect my life to change in the next six months in that we want to open a family business, though we are still debating which one specifically. This will give us an additional source of capital. We have agreed that my wife will be in charge of it because personally I am busy with my driving work. Having an additional source of income will help us provide for our children the necessary needs they want, and also enable us to achieve our other life goals.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have been using the money to build the new house which I would have never managed to do with the ease with which I do it today. Even though I have a casual job which I totally rely on, the little that I get from the job could have never been enough to help me get the new house structure.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal right now is to fence my compound so that it can be safe and free from any form of intrusion or burglary, especially during the night hours. It also serves to mark a clear boundary from my neighbors apart from just the privacy it creates.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I would say that the biggest difference is that I have been able to offset most of the bills which include buying new building materials which I have been using to build a new house where we will live with my family. I thought it to be a wise idea for me to get a new spacious house for my family so that we eventually move away from this small structure that can barely accommodate the entire family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to save some money every month so that I can be able to pay school fees for my child come next term. I want to make sure that by the time we close the year, the kid should have almost no pending balances at school.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, I can plan and achieve my goals. I am more optimistic about life ever since I started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly. I work hard and add the money which I get from casual jobs to the transfers that have really helped me to continue constructing my permanent house. I started building it two years ago and because of financial constraints I have not managed to finish building it but there is hope It will be completed at some point. I would rather be slow at completing it but eventually come out with something substantial and longlasting.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to start poultry farming. Currently, I only depend on casual jobs which are usually unpredictable and the wages are also very little to sustain my family. I am certain that poultry farm would be of great help especially when emergencies arise. It will be an extra source of income which will settle other needs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I am nowadays hopeful and ambitious. My dream of owning a permanent house seems to be achievable. With the help of GiveDirectly, I have managed to buy building materials and continued constructing the four bedroomed house that I started building two years ago. I had lost hope along the way because of lack of funds but GiveDirectly revived it. It is not yet complete but with the assuarity of monthly payments from GiveDirectly, I am certain that I will soon be living in a decent spacious house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months because I will have started my poultry farm. I believe this business will add me extra cash since chicken is a common delicacy in our village and also the nearby towns. With proper management and marketing strategies, I know that I will get enough profit to take care of the unplanned emergencies that may arise.
