Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have started constructing an iron roofed house for my self that is currently at the window level. This transfer enabled me to purchase the required materials for construction and paying labour. Secondly, I have owned an ox that is going to ease my agriculture. Prior to receiving this transfer, I didn't have enough money to implement my construction plan.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Upon learning that I had received money from GiveDirectly, I became very happy because this money was going to enable me acquire an ox and start up with the construction of an iron roofed house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase an ox at UGX 700,000 that I intend to use for ploughing for my land. In addition, UGX 800,000 I bought construction materials(2 trips of bricks, 20 pieces of iron sheets), foodstuffs and paid construction labour. I have not yet spent UGX 200,000 but I am planning to spend it for paying construction workers.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. It is one thing that I always wanted to do but I did not have money. Grass is so scarce these days that it actually makes maintaining a grass thatched house difficult.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am seated at the centre with friends. I am able to share with them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of farm land. The available piece of land is small and yet it has to be shared among many households. I can not farm as I would wish to because of the limitations of space. This has always resulted into food shortage because I can only plant in small quantities.
