How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am building a 2 bedroom house that will be completed very soon. With this transfer just received, I am going to invest a huge portion of my money into agriculture. I want to make a very big plaintain and Cassava farm. In addition, the remaining portion of my transfer will be used to purchase enough building materials and immediately complete my house project. GD transfer has given me hope for the future.I am so satisfied with this project.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own judgement, GiveDirectly has been very honest in delivering cash to poor people like us. Sometimes it all seems unreal for me to have received such amount of money as goodwill. I am excited to be part of this program. I see nothing that GD is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My goal at the moment is to complete my house project and also invest in agriculture. Hence, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought two bundles of zinc for $23,000LD. Portion of my transfer will be used to pay workers gather enough wood for the roof of my house. Finally, I will use my balance transfer to secure a huge parcel of land for my plaintain and Cassava farm.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I've lived in my house for many years and the entire roof is falling apart. The tatch is very old and the sticks are almost rotten. Therefore, building a new house and establishing my cocoa farm has been my main goal. When I received my transfer, I bought zinc and I also purchased enough seeds for my farm. The money received as grant from GiveDirectly has transformed my life for good. I am grateful to GD for this golden opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own understanding, GiveDirectly treats everyone equally and fairly. This Organization (GD) has been very objective in all they do. I am so excited and I am grateful to all those involved in making my life have true meaning. I don't see anything that GiveDirectly doesn't do very well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
For a very long time I had envisioned building my own house and making a very big farm. Therefore, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 1 more bundle of zinc for $10,500LD. I also used portion of my transfer to purchase more seeds and ferterlizer for my farm. I feel so relieved at the moment. GD transfers has continue to improve my livelihood. How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I wanted to build a bigger house containing 3 rooms and a porch. However, when I received my recent transfer, I have also decided to invest in agriculture. My conviction of investing in cocoa production has been my new goal. In so doing, building a house and making my cocoa farm are two of my projects that are progressing smoothly because of GD's transfer. I am very much grateful for this opportunity provided me through GiveDirectly's transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Due to limited finances, it has been very difficult to undertake two of my major projects. Nonetheless, with GiveDirectly's financial assistance, I am able to undertake both projects at the same time. This method of giving huge amount of cash to poor man like me without expecting anything in return has transformed my entire life and the lives of many others. Hence, GD has been doing everything so well and I am pleased to be a part of this project.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I currently have two projects that I'm working on simultaneously. I was resting in the morning when a friend of mine came knocking at my door that he has just received his transfer. I immediately ran to network coverage area and checked my phone. It was unbelievable to received my first transfer. I personally didn't believe the reality of GiveDirectly program due to my past experienced I had with other NGOs. Receiving my first transfer from Givedirectly is like a dream to me and has brought so much joy to me. I am a struggling man who make farm and hunt animal for living. Getting to transport crops from our community to sell is challenging due to bad roads conditions .I am living in an old thatch house which leaks when there is heavy down pull of rain . My plan has been to build a new house when I have money. Thanks to Givedirectly for coming to my aid. I believe that with my transfer , my worries are all over.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I came in this village 2011 and it was in that same year that I built my house. For the past two years my house has started falling apart. When I received this money from GiveDirectly, I will break down my house and built a better one with Zinc on top because right now I'm using thatch as a roof. I will than invest some of the money in business and the rest of the money will be save for future purposes.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Through all of these difficult times, I have always remain thankful for the breath of life every morning.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
As a family head I struggled on a daily basis to support my family and take care of their needs. My only means of getting money is through farming and this year the farming season is really difficult. I can't afford to pay others to help me in the bush so I have to do all the work myself and with the support of my family. My children education is another problem in my family. Due to hardships, I can't afford to pay theirs school fees this year and seeing them sitting home really breaks my heart. When they are sick carryin them to seek good medical attention is a serious challenge, mostly when their is absolutely no money.
