What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second cash transfer to buy a bag, saucepans and food for the family. However I am planning to spend the larger portion of the cash transfer to construct a two roomed iron roofed house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well when it sends the poor direct cash transfers to their phones. The cash transfers have raised up many poverty stricken families. GiveDirectly has been a blessing for us.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
For the past years I have been living in abject poverty. I could not afford all the house hold items that I have. I am happy because GiveDirectly empowered me with the cash transfers that enabled me to purchase an ox and pay school fees for my children. More so, I am happy that GiveDirectly gave me a phone that has connected me with my relatives. Previously, I did not own a phone and It was hard to communicate. I used to do a lot of casual labour so as to make ends meet.
