How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved in that, I'm happy since I bought an ox and construction materials. In the past, I used to work in other people's agricultural land in order to have my own land ploughed. But this won't be the case again since I can now plough with my own ox that will plough together with my brother's. In addition, I will soon be relieved from the hardships associated with renovating a grass thatched house since I will be constructing an iron roofed house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done me well through giving the financial support that is enabling me to build. However, there is nothing wrong that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer to buy constructing materials like a door, windows, iron sheets, timber and nails. And I plan to use the remaining balance of Ugx 600000 for paying the builders.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have managed to plough and plant my crops in time using this cash. I am expecting good harvest this time round because the planting was done early. In addition, I intend to purchase bricks for constructing an iron roofed house. Previously, I could get poor yields because of delayed planting and I had financial challenge when it came to hiring oxen. I wouldn't have constructed an iron roofed house had I not received this transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I became very happy because not everyone who was enrolled received this transfer.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase ground seeds, utensils, clothes for my self and children. I also gave my son UGX 300,00 to top up for buying a motorbike, paid for ploughing my land and labour for planning the ground nut seeds. I have not yet spent UGX 670,000 but I plan to spend it to buy bricks.
