How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been because I sleep under an iron sheet roofed house and I am happy about it. Before, I used to sleep under a grass thatched house that rats would damage creating a leakage for the rains to find away into the house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving money directly to people that has enabled to build iron sheet roofed houses, acquire livestock, bicycles and motorcycles for transport, thereby transforming livelihoods from extreme poverty. I don't see anything it hasn't done well in my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent to buy a bull, a mattress and a bed, bought 16 bags of cement, and kept some to be used to pay labour that will plaster the house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I am now happy because I am nolonger stressed of looking for grass for thatching houses every year. This had been a tedious exercise and very expensive in terms of buying and transportation.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first cash transfer, I felt excited because I had never held such a big amount of money in life. Besides, my house had been crowded and receiving this money meant that I would construct a specious house for my children to stay in.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first cash transfer worth UGX 1,100,000 for buying cement, iron sheets, a metalic door and paying labour for people who were building my permanent house. The balance of UGX 600,000, I spent it on buying a cow with intentions of it acting as an income generating activity for the household.
